A Beloved Brooklyn Pizzeria is Coming to Miami
Miami Beach Residents can start enjoying Roberta's pies in Summer 2024
Miami is often called the “sixth borough” for its close ties to New York City regardless of its 1,200-mile distance.
Many New York restaurateurs have taken advantage of this synergy by opening locations in Miami. Eateries that have been successful in making the move include Cote, Lucali Pizza, Carbone, and Red Rooster.
Now, Roberta’s is making its way down south. The Brooklyn-based pizza restaurant is opening its first Miami Beach location at the yet-to-open 72 Park condominium, a 22-story building scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2024. The luxury condo is a far cry from Roberta’s Bushwick beginnings, with prices starting in the $700,000s for a 410-square-foot apartment.
Roberta’s opened its flagship Bushwick location in 2008 in a cinder-block warehouse. The restaurant quickly became a favorite for its Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas with catchy names like the “Cheesus Christ”, the Marissa Tomeito”, and the “Axl Rosenburg”. Roberta’s earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation for its superior pies.
Since then, Roberta’s has expanded with five locations in New York City, two Los Angeles locations, and one in Nashville. In addition, Roberta’s online store offers frozen pizzas, food items, and branded merch.
Roberta’s co-founders Brandon Hoy and chef Carlo Mirarchi are involved in the Miami Beach location, so pizza lovers down south can expect the same quality. “We are very excited to introduce Roberta’s to the vibrant city of Miami,” says Mirarchi. “The energy and diversity of Miami’s food scene resonates deeply with our commitment to providing fun and memorable dining experiences for our guests.”
According to Hoy, Roberta’s also promises to offer programming to the Miami Beach location, adding, “We love the neighborhood and can’t wait to not only serve this community but also add some Brooklyn charm to the city’s culinary landscape.”
