A Brooklyn BBQ Joint Hosts a Dolly Lookalike Contest

If you’re in Brooklyn on February 24, you have to check out the Dolly Parton lookalike contest at Mables Smokehouse and Banquet Hall. This is the sixth iteration of the contest that sees dozens of Dollys from around the city vying for the best Dolly spot. Get ready for big hair, lots of music and plenty of glitter — all while enjoying some great barbecue. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at mabelssmokehouse.ticketleap.com.

It seems as though retailers are siding with consumers. Two major retailers — Whole Foods Market and Walmart, are asking suppliers to lower prices, according to NBC News.

The Farmer’s Dog Wins the Super Bowl

If you watched the Super Bowl, you might think the Kansas City Chiefs were victorious. The real winner, however, is a Brooklyn-based dog food company called The Farmer’s Dog. According to the Super Bowl Ad Meter, the commercial about a girl and her dog won the hearts of millions of people. Watch the commercial now — and be prepared for all the feels.
