Bagels in Bed Served by a Butler
Stay at the Fifth Avenue Hotel in NYC and eat Apollo Bagels in your jammies
Once upon a time, back before the days of Instagram and TikTok, New Yorkers could get a good bagel with a schmear without a four-hour wait.
Sure, if it was Sunday morning prime time, you’d wait at Russ and Daughters or Ess-a-Bagel for a bit. But now, if you just want a bagel with a schmear, it could be a long time before you get to tear into your food.
Appolo Bagels is one such bagel place that has exceedingly long lines. Granted, the bagels are delicious — crisper and less doughy than traditional NY bagels, with a slight sourdough-like tartness.
You can wait in line for Apollo Bagels, then find a park bench to nosh out…or you can stay in your jammies and have a butler prepare your carb-laden feast.
The Fifth Avenue Hotel has partnered with Apollo Bagels for a special, limited-time breakfast in bed collab.
Simply stay at the Fifth Avenue Hotel and order the breakfast in bed package (in advance via a custom door knocker). The next morning, a butler will wheel in an entire spread of Apollo Bagels along with all the trimmings: smoked salmon, trout roe, pickled onions, cucumber, capers, tomato, soft-boiled eggs, and whipped cream cheese. It’s also paired with soft-boiled eggs drizzled with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper.
Your butler will even toast your bagel and prepare it with whatever topping you want from the selection. We recommend a classic of cream cheese, smoked salmon, onions, and plenty of capers, but it’s your choice, so pile it all on.
If you’re looking to ease into the fall, why not check in for a staycation, have breakfast in bed, and then play tourist for the weekend? The bagel breakfast in bed costs $60 per person (reasonable when you consider both the spread and the hours of your time spent reading in bed instead of schlepping in line) and is available through September 30th.
If you’re a baller — or just want to really up your Instagram game, there’s also a Breakfast in Bed stay package that includes a one-night stay, the breakfast in bed bagel experience, valet parking, a “breakfast in bed” sweatshirt, and a custom bagel spreader by Sabre in The Fifth’s signature color palette. The Breakfast in Bed package begins at $1,895.
Now that’s a lot of dough!
