New York City Dining
Wilson Tang is known for helping give new life to the Doyers Street Nom Wah Tea Parlor in Chinatown. His latest move is transforming restaurateur John McDonald’s (that’s me) Hancock St. restaurant in the West Village into a pop-up version of Hong Kong-style diners called cha chaan tengs. Starting May 12, on Sundays and Mondays through June, find a “Cantonese roast duck sandwich, macaroni soup with fried Spam, Cantonese French toast,” per the New York Times, in a kitchen led by chefs Akiko Thurnauer and Doron Wong. Cha Cha Tang, joins several other New York cha chaan tengs, including Mabu Café, Kong Sihk Tong, and M. Star. (via Eater New York)
