Here are the 2023 Florida Michelin Guide Winners
The Michelin Guide Ceremony was held last evening in Miami and three new restaurants received Stars
Last evening, the culinary elite of Florida gathered at LoanDepot Park (the home of the Florida Marlins baseball team) for the 2023 Michelin Florida Star Revelation Ceremony.
The evening had its share of challenges with the live streaming going down right in the middle of the star reveals (leading to an awkward 20 minutes of downtime), and chefs having to push their way to the stage once their restaurants were called.
Nevertheless, chefs and restaurateurs got their moment of recognition as several new restaurants were added to the Michelin Guide. In total, 144 restaurants were entered into the Florida Michelin Guide for 2023, including 33 Bib Gourmands and 19 restaurants with Stars.
This year, it was Tampa’s turn to shine, with three restaurants receiving a Michelin Star: Koya, Lilac, and Rocca.
In addition, the Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt, an 18-seat restaurant at the Carillion Miami Wellness Resort that offers three and six-course tasting menus, received a Star. All the other Starred restaurants remained the same as last year.
L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, the tony restaurant located in Miami’s Design District remains the only Two-Star restaurant in Florida and no restaurant in Florida received a rare and coveted Three-Star designation.
As always, the real value for diners continues to be in the Bib Gourmand category. Standouts in the Bib Gourmand category include Tampa’s Ichicoro Ramen and Rooster and the Till, The Ravenous Pig and Otto’s High Dive in Orlando, and Jaguar Sun, Phuc Yea, and Michael’s Genuine in Miami.
Three Miami-area restaurants actually lost their 2022 Bib Gourmands: Itame, Krus Kitchen, and Red Rooster Overtown.
