It's Tiny Kitchen Week!

www.brokenpalate.com

Hey, everyone! We're excited to share a sneak peek of a newish Substack called A Tiny Apt. created by Christene Barberich. (Fun fact: She once worked alongside Broken Palate founder John McDonald on his ASME-award winning design magazine CITY before she co-founded the media company Refinery29.)

A Tiny Apt. is a weekly dispatch devoted to small spaces, personal style, and navigating life and our homes through change and challenges, be they square footage or otherwise. This week, A Tiny Apt. is devoted to our favorite room in the house, the kitchen— it's Tiny Kitchen Week! — and, we'll be sharing a peek at stories throughout the week. — The Editors

A Tiny Apt.
It’s Tiny Kitchen Week (Woo!)
All things A Tiny Apt. great & small are made possible because of those glorious, heaven-sent things called Paid subscriptions. By just contributing $5/month, we can do just about anything over here, not to mention keep the (coolest) lights on and make ever more Tiny, amazing, utterly imperfect things that move and delight you. And me, too. Thank you…

Cooking with Marshmello

Cooking with Marshmello

Grammy nominee DJ Marshmello entered the world of home cookery with his TikTok show, Cooking with Marshmello. Recipes include Buffalo cauliflower, Puppy Chow, and an adorable open-faced bacon-and-egg sandwich. Of course, if you’re going to cook, you need the right tools, so Marshmello has teamed up with Crux to sell a line of air fryers that come in a variety of designer colors and two sizes. They’re available only at Best Buy (and they’re on sale, too).

K.D. Lang visits the giant Cheeto statue

A small town in rural Canada has a new (albeit) temporary monument. Cheadle, Alberta is the home of the giant Cheetle statue. What’s a “cheetle”? Well, according to Cheetos, “cheetle” is the orange dust that gets on your hands while you’re eating those cheesy puffs. The statue is a marketing ploy by the makers of Cheetos and will remain up until November 4. Singer K.D. Lang shared a photo with the giant orange statue. Guess she has a “constant craving” for the snack.

A gritty Bourdain bio

The New York Times reviews Down and Out in Paradise: The Life of Anthony Bourdain, an unauthorized biography by Charles Leerhsen. The book, which has garnered much pre-release buzz (and controversy), details the gritty side of author, chef, and television personality Anthony Bourdain, who took his own life in 2018. Down and Out in Paradise has an October 11 release date.
