New York City has a France problem
"I’ve never seen anyone cut a baguette the way they cut baguettes at Chez Fifi." - Emily Sundberg and J Lee
A peak into a favorite few sentences, “I’ve never seen anyone cut a baguette the way they cut baguettes at Chez Fifi. It’s diabolical. They take a section of baguette and then cut it the long way into three long pieces. There's a piece that's mostly the top crust (the upper crust, if you will), a piece that's just the bottom crust and then a middle piece with barely any crust at all. I can’t stop wondering why they would have cut the bread this way. It seems harder than cutting the bread in any conventional manner and the pieces are unpleasant to eat. I’m still confounded.”
