Michelin Adds Restaurants to Florida, California Guides
The news comes as a tease to the upcoming Michelin Ceremonies for both states
Florida has been on Michelin’s radar, with the addition of 14 new restaurants to its guide. The news comes as a teaser in advance of the April 17th Florida ceremony to be held at the Four Seasons Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando.
The 14 new restaurants start their Michelin lives with a “Recommended” status. At the ceremony, each one can be upgraded to “Bib Gourmand” or receive one star, two stars, or three stars. Currently, 25 Florida restaurants have earned a Michelin Star and two have earned two stars. There are no three-starred restaurants in the state.
Miami has four new restaurants, Orlando racked up five new restaurants, and Tampa has four new spots. The restaurants (with links to Michelin’s inspector notes) are below:
In Miami, Kojin 2.0, Recoveco, Sunny's Steakhouse, and ViceVersa were added to the Guide. In Orlando, Bánh Mì Boy, Gyukatsu Rose, Kai Kai, Smokemade Meats + Eats, and Walala Hand-Pulled Noodle House made the recommended list. In Tampa, Big Ray's Fish Camp, Cousin Vinny's Sandwich Co., Fisk, and Mad Dogs & Englishmen were added. Finally, Winter Park’s Bar Kada was added.
Michelin also added 15 restaurants to its California Guide. Traditionally, the annual California ceremony is held in the summer, so look for further announcements shortly. Currently, 66 California restaurants have earned one star, 13 have earned two stars, and an impressive six restaurants have earned three stars.
In Carmel-by-the-Sea, Stationæry received a recommendation. In Los Angeles Bar Etoile, Kusano, Mori Nozomi, Rasarumah, Restaurant Ki, Seline, and Tomat were added to the Guide. Oakland’s Sun Moon Studio received a recommendation, as did Petaluma’s Table Culture Provisions. San Francisco’s Four Kings, Prelude, The Wild, and Verjus received a nod. Finally, Sonoma’s Enclos was added to the Guide.
