Michelin Stars Announced for Three Cities
New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C. stars were awarded in a joint ceremony last evening
Last evening, the culinary elite of New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C. gathered at The Glasshouse in Hell’s Kitchen for the 2024 Michelin Guide ceremony encompassing all three cities.
The evening, hosted by television personality Java Ingram, announced restaurants that have earned one, two, or three Michelin stars.
According to Michelin, a one-star restaurant offers “high-quality cooking, worth a stop;” two stars provide “excellent cooking, worth a detour;” and three stars signify “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.”
In New York, four restaurants have achieved the rare and coveted three-star designation: Eleven Madison Park, Le Bernardin, Masa, Per Se, and the newly minted Jungsik. In Chicago, Smyth and Alinea retained their three stars. In D.C., The Inn at Little Washington received three stars.
In New York, the Michelin Green Star Award was presented to One White Street for its sustainable practices. Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Family Meal at Blue Hill, and Dirt Candy retained their Green Stars. Oyster Oyster in Washington, D.C. received a Michelin Green Star, and Daisies in Chicago retained its Green Star.
