Prince William Works at a Food Truck
Plus, Pickle Milkshakes at Epcot and Rocks in Trader Joe's Cookies
Prince William’s Short-Lived Food Truck Career
Working on a food truck is hard work. The trucks are small, hot, and the demand is fast and furious. I worked on a burger food truck and it’s no picnic.
The last person anyone would imagine serving food from a mobile vehicle would be Prince William, but that’s exactly what he recently did. The Prince of Wales surprised diners in London recently as part of a promotion for the Earthshot prize, which recognizes people and innovations that will help repair our planet. Prince William teamed up with Sorted Food to serve food prepared a veggie burger made from items from last year’s Earthshot winners: vegetables grown in a “greenhouse in a box” by Kheyti that were cooked on a Mukuru Clean Stove, served in sustainable packaging made by Notlpa.
Epcot Food & Wine Festival Returns With Everything From Poitine to Pickle Shakes
As an adult living about three hours from Disney World, I can attest from personal experience that Disney is not only for kids.
Visit any of the parks and you’ll see most attendees are adults with no littles in tow. In recent years, Disney has embraced “Disney adults”, offering more intense attractions like the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge area at Hollywood Studios, where adults can be menaced by Stormtroopers, take selfies with the Millenium Falcon, and drink galactic-themed cocktails at Oga’s Cantina.
Epcot has always been a theme park for adults, with its unofficial main attraction being the “drink-around-the-world” challenge, which involves imbibing at all of Epcot’s country pavilions.
This past weekend, Epcot’s annual International Food & Wine Festival returned with a bevy of food and drink. The festival, which runs through November 18, offers bites representing countries such as France, Italy, Kenya, Germany, Japan, and more.
Each year, the festival also offers a few culinary wildcards — off-the-wall options that go viral through social media. This year, look out for a pickle milkshake (available at the Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey). Cheese lovers will want to eat their way through “Emile’s Fromage Montage”, which allows guests to sample cheese-centric dishes around the world.
What’s in Those Trader Joe’s Cookies?
Trader Joe’s is a grocery chain with a loyal fan base that gushes practically every time the California-based chain releases a new item. The store, which offers private-label foods, has issued several recalls in the past week, including for some of its most popular items. The chain warned about its Trader Joe’s Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup, which might contain insects. In addition, Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Falafel, Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies, and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies were all recalled because they “may contain rocks”.
