The Bear Returns
The Bear returns for a second season. The series premiere, scheduled for June 22, follows Carmen Berzatto and his crew as they seek to open a new restaurant in Chicagoland. The second season is available to watch on Hulu and arrives the same day as season two of HBO’s And Just Like That. Prime summer binging season has arrived.
Trump at Versailles
Versailles, the Cuban restaurant on Calle Ocho is on the “must-eat” list of many people visiting Miami. Last week, Donald Trump, visited the restaurant after being fingerprinted and arraigned at the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. U.S. Courthouse in downtown Miami on 37 felony counts. The Versailles crowd sang “Happy Birthday” and prayed over the former president, and generally did anything but eat there. According to a source, Trump ate nothing, nor did he spring for any of his followers even though he shouted, “Food for everyone.”
Four Roses Bourbon Turns 135
Four Roses Distillery celebrates its 135th year with a refresh. The Kentucky bourbon will update its brand by refreshing its rose emblem, along with adding an engraved rose on the bottle corks. In addition, Master Distiller Brent Elliott's signature will be etched on the face of each bottle. To celebrate Four Roses is releasing a rare, limited edition kit - The Ten Recipe Tasting Experience - which will feature each of the ten recipes that make up Four Roses' bourbons. The kit will include 50ml bottles of each recipe, along with a QR code that will offer a guided tasting video with Elliott for a more immersive experience. This limited edition kit ($129.99) will be available for purchase starting June 30 at the Four Roses Visitor Centers in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and Coxs Creek, Kentucky, and will roll out in select retailers in Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, and California starting in mid-July.
Sarah Jessica Parker Restaurant Rave
And Just Like That, series star and executive producer, Sarah Jessica Parker, recently raved about a new restaurant that opened in her Greenwich Village neighborhood that she shares with her husband, Matthew Broderick. Parker says of Gab’s, “This restaurant has a lot to crow about. Surrounded by happy locals that have found their new dining room.” Gab’s, located on Carmine Street, offers a seasonal menu by chef Nate Ashton that includes a market salad, asparagus tartare, and a proper burger (not to be confused with SATC’s Jack Berger).
Denver hosts a Mushroom Conference
The Mile-High City is hosting, Psychedelic Science at the Colorado Convention Center, a conference and expo that explores the benefits of psychedelic mushrooms. Though Denver doesn’t yet allow mushroom dispensaries, Psilocybin mushrooms were decriminalized in 2019.
