The Best Amazon Prime Day Deals for Your Kitchen
Deals on things you need -- and things you want

Amazon Prime Day starts today, and people are in a shopping frenzy.
Each year, Amazon takes a cue from the old “Christmas in July” sales (anyone remember Crazy Eddie back in the day?) and offers tens of thousands of items on sale. We’re talking everything from coffee makers to dresses to car mats.
With so much on offer, it’s almost impossible to figure out what to buy, but here are a few tips:
Search for items you normally purchase and see if there’s a deal to be had. For instance, I like to buy coffee pods, vitamins, and the Japanese gummi candies that I can no longer live without after finding them at a 7-11 in Tokyo.
Look closely to see if a deal is a deal — if something is on sale, but it costs additional shipping, it might not be the bargain you’d hoped it would be. Always look at the return policy on each item. I once purchased a chair that broke immediately, but I had to pay for shipping to return it. The inexpensive chair turned out to be a bad investment.
When purchasing something during Amazon Prime Days, make sure that the color and size you want are on sale. Sometimes, the sale pertains to a particular color or style, and not everything listed.
If you’ve always wanted a SodaStream or have been meaning to replace that moka pot, here are the best Prime Day deals for your kitchen.
Stanley Quencher H2.0 Tumbler with Handle and Straw 40 oz
Remember when you couldn’t get your hands on a Stanley? They’re now 40 percent off! Seriously, they are pretty great. I like to go for a long two-hour beach walk on the weekends. I can put some Gatorade in my Stanley with a bit of ice, leave it in the car to bake, and still come back to a cold beverage. If you haven’t succumbed to the siren song of the Stanley, it’s time you did at this price. $27 (regularly $45).
SodaStream
Since I can remember, it’s been a hassle to get myself to drink enough water. I hate the still, flat taste of water. Then, I discovered sparkling water. Those effervescent bubbles quench my thirst and hit the spot, but those cans and bottles add up. I bought myself my first SodaStream when they were introduced more than a decade ago and I use it every day. I love that it needs no electricity, that the cannisters can be exchanged instead of thrown away, and that it only take a second to make a liter of sparkling water. This basic model is on sale for $49.99 (regularly $89.99).
Dash My Mug Ice Cream Maker
It’s 90-plus degrees daily in my neck of the woods, and I’ve been cooling off with ice cream. There’s a problem: store-bought ice cream has tons of sugar and it gets to be pricey. This tiny little ice cream maker can produce a single-sized portion of ice cream in just 20 minutes (after freezing the base for 24 hours). A two-pack costs $29.99 (regularly $39.99).
Primula Moka Pot
I have a Keurig for those morning first cups, but I love a moka pot to brew an afternoon’s jet fuel. There’s also something so delightfully European and retro about having one in your kitchen. This classic 6-cup moka pot comes with its own frother and costs just $14.99 (regularly $24.99).
Instapot Duo 9-in-1 Cooker
True story: A couple of years ago, I received this same Instapot in the mail from an ex-boyfriend who noticed that I had posted on social media that I am notoriously lousy at cooking rice and beans. I now turn to this Instapot at least once a week. I love to make soups in it — I’ll put in some bone broth, whatever vegetables I have, some meat, noodles, and I have soup in no time. It’s great for meal prep for the week, easy to clean, and has made a rice and beans pro out of me. At 50 percent off for Prime Day, I highly recommend you pick one up for yourself. $69.99 (regularly $139.99).
Silicone Freezer Trays
Speaking of meal prep, these silicone freezer trays are perfect for when you’re meal prepping, making a huge batch of soup, or put on a big pot of Sunday gravy. Just pour the contents into the cubes — which are perfectly portioned. When you want to reheat, just pop one cube out! If you have a baby or even a doggo that you cook for, this is the perfect way to batch and reheat the right size, since they come in one-cup and two-cup sizes. $15.99 each (regularly $19.99).
