In light of Fergus Henderson and Margot Henderson’s Order of the British Empire award this week — an honor for those who’ve made a significant impact through their work — we have a handful of weekend travel picks for London. It’s an easy city to get to from the East Coast and an extremely satisfying stop for a long weekend.

First up: Reservations at the power couples’ glorious restaurants. We’ve listed sit-down places, as opposed to bakery and wine carryout spots. Beyond St. John, you’ll find a handful of places to drink and snack, mostly cherry-picked by the fine staff at The Doyle Collection hotels listed below.

St. John

The Michelin-starred minimalist restaurant that started it all in 1994.

St. John Bread and Wine

It’s the bakery that became a small-plate-and-wine restaurant back in 2003.

Housed in what had been a former bike shed for the Rochelle School, Melanie Arnold and Margot Henderson started the restaurant with simple, beautiful food and a menu that changes daily.
